Google updates Search app for Android 4.1, also improves Google Now feature
Google Search is one of the main feature present in all Android devices and Android 4.1 and above devices have another advantage of the search feature is integration of Google Now. Today, Google updates its Search app for all the devices based on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and above. The new update comes with several additional Google Now features as well.
The updated Search app adds some new Google Now cards. Some of the cards are to provide information about nearby events and locations, the new app also provide suggestion in search results. On the other hand, there are also some new cards added in the updated version and one of them helps to search by the device’s camera in several places including museums and shops. There is also an option to automatically pull up the boarding passes from Gmail account at the time of reaching at airport, though this feature is till now only available in US. The new version app also shows weather information for the searched destinations and also provide monthly approximate summary of walking and biking activity.
Along with several new Google Now cards, the app also comes with several new voice commands such as to use at the time of posting status messages on Google+ profile, to show information about music or even to scan barcode of a product.
