To compete Apple iTunes, Google has finally released its Google Play Movies & TV app for iOS. Google Play Movies & TV will be available in-line of Google Play Music to give a tough competition to the similar kind of Apple’s in-house iTunes service.
Google Play Movies & TV initially debut on Android platform and recently came to Amazon Kindle Store. The arrival of Google Play Movies & TV app on the App Store is a bit different when comparing with its availability on the other two platforms. In this case, the app by the search giant is giving a direct competition to Apple iTunes which has successfully gained with a large user base across the globe.
Google Play Movies & TV, in some way similar to Apple iTunes, provide access to watch movies and TV shows on purchase or rent basis. Unlike the Android app, the app on iOS uses browser for buying or renting contents. Users must need an active Wi-Fi connectivity to stream videos on their iOS-based iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
TV shows on Google Play Movies & TV app are currently only available in the United States, Japan, and United Kingdom. However, movies can be accessed from several other regions as well. Chromecast owners can take advantage of the app and stream video contents from their iOS devices to their HDTVs.
Google Play Movies & TV app required iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running on Apple iOS 6.0 or above. The app is available for free download on Apple App Store.
