Google Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P with Android 6.0 Marshmallow launched in India

Google today officially launched the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P smartphones in India with a starting price of Rs. 31,900. Both the new smartphones run on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

The LG Nexus 5X comes with a price tag of Rs. 31,900 for the 16GB variant and Rs. 35,900 for the 32GB variant, the Huawei Nexus 6P is priced at Rs. 39,999 for the 32GB variant and Rs. 42,999 for the 64GB variant. Both the Nexus smartphones will be available in the country starting October 21. The Nexus 5X go on sale via Amazon India, whereas the Nexus 6P will be available via Flipkart.

Google has partnered with The Mobile Store, Sangeetha Mobiles and Croma to sell the new Nexus smartphones offline in the country in addition to their exclusive online available on Amazon and Flipkart.

The LG Nexus 5X comes bundled with a Bluetooth headset worth Rs. 2,500, screen replacement worth Rs. 6,500 and a cashback for HDFC credit card holders worth Rs. 3,500. The Huawei Nexus 6P, on the other hand, comes bundled with a Google Chromecast dongle worth Rs. 2,999 via Flipkart or a Bluetooth speaker worth Rs. 2,495.

On announcing the launch, David Shapiro, Global Director of Chrome and Android Marketing at Google, said:

Originally announced in September, the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P both sport fingerprint sensor and a USB-C port and come preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Nexus 5X is the successor to the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 6P is available as the successor to the last year’s Nexus 6.

The LG Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution and is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset that has a 1.8GHz hexa-core CPU and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone has a 12.3-megapixel rear camera sensor along with dual-LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera sensor. Besides, it packs a 2,700mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology.

The Huawei Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 pixels (QHD) and is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset along with a 2GHz octa-core CPU and 3GB of RAM. There is a 12.3-megapixel rear camera sensor along with dual-LED flash, 8-megapixel front camera sensor and a 3,450mAh battery.

Both the smartphones have Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, NFC and a microUSB port. In addition, there is 4G LTE support to deliver high-speed internet access.
