Gmail app for iOS revamped to version 2.0 with new UI and improved features
Google wants to earn name not only in Android ecosystem, also in the iOS ecosystem as well. And in order to get high-fame in iOS platform, the search giant today revamped the Gmail app to version 2.0. The new version Gmail app has new and fresh user interface (UI) with addition to the number of new improved features.
According to the release note, the new Gmail 2.0 app was in pipeline since past six months and after taking such time, team shows all new Gmail client for iOS users with several new tweaks and improvements.
The new Gmail app for iOS comes with a completely different UI, much similar to the UI adopted by recently released Google+ and Search app for iOS platform. The new Gmail app has much minimal and clean design with profile pictures in messages, numerous new animations from swivels to transitions and infinite scrolling in the message lists.
Along with new UI, the new version Gmail app also added several new features as well. The new Gmail client supports multiple accounts setup with maximum limit of up to five accounts and users can switch between multiple accounts with a couple of taps. Now users can also reply to Google Calendar invites as well as +1 and comment on Google+ posts directly from the app.
The new version Gmail app also supports 4-inch retina display present on the iPhone 5. Google also added auto-complete predictions in the new app so that users just have to type few words in the search bar and the app predicts result keywords, similar to the Search app.
