Are you waiting for the BlackBerry 10 or the Z10 in India, then your wait is going to be over soon as the first smartphone based on BlackBerry 10 will reach to the Indian market in the month of February. Yes, it is confirmed that RIM is going to launch their upcoming operating system, BlackBerry 10 OS, on 30th of January and now company’s Indian managing director confirms the arrival of the first BlackBerry 10 based smartphone (Z10) in India.

During an interview with Times Of India, Sunil Dutt, RIM India Managing Director confirming the arrival of the upcoming smartphone and says;

“Globally, we will announce BB10 on January 30. Within 2 or 3 weeks, I expect it to come to India. Initially, there will be one device, the flagship model with full touchscreen. It will be followed by another device soon.”

The statement clearly indicates the existence of the BlackBerry Z10 as the flagship smartphone and the other one in the series will be the X10 with a QWERTY keyboard. As the BlackBerry 10 OS is touch-optimised, BlackBerry X10 is also supposed to have a touch-screen as well as the keyboard for input. Though the actual date is yet to be confirmed by the company, it is estimated that the first BB10 based smartphone, BlackBerry Z10 will reach to the Indian market anytime in the month February.

The senior also stated that besides a huge loss in some countries including America, after introduction of Google’s Android and Apple’s iPhone, India is still one of the countries which have a large number of BlackBerry consumers. Of course after Android started capturing the market, BlackBerry looses the position which was earlier in the smartphones market but to overcome such situation and regain more shares in the smartphones market, RIM is taking a step forward with introducing BlackBerry 10 OS.

As we have reported earlier, the first smartphone based on the BlackBerry 10 OS, BlackBerry Z10 will feature a 4.2-inch display with full-touch support. The display will have 1280 x 768 pixels resolution with 356 ppi pixel density. The upcoming BlackBerry Z10 smartphone will be powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB internal storage along with a microSD card slot. There will be an 8MP camera on the rear along with an LED flash for photography and a 2MP camera on the front for video chatting purposes.

Some reports are also up in the air that RIM will simulcast or organise an event on the same date, January 30th in India as well to launch the BlackBerry 10 OS along with the flagship smartphone. We’ll of course confirm the report in the coming days, so stay tuned.
