Facebook Moments app now creates movies with your existing photos

Facebook has updated its Moments app with an all-new feature that transforms your existing photos into movies. The app was originally launched in a handful of countries back in June but is now available for free download in India and “many more countries” across the globe.

The updated Facebook Moments app turns any of your existing set of six or more photos into movies using the new feature. Movies on the app are basically the slideshows that we saw from Google Photos in the past. However, the updated app by the social network has the ability to let users edit the video by their own as well as add any of their favourite background music.

Facebook has additionally translated the updated Moments app into more than 30 different languages to expand its usage. The app now also allows users to create a new moment for existing photos simply by tapping the plus button from the top right. Besides, there are some bug fixes and performance improvements to improve the overall functionality of the app.

The updated Facebook Moments app is available through Google Play Store and Apple App Store for download on Android and iOS devices, respectively. However, users in Europe need to wait for the update as the app is yet to be released in the region.

In case you’re not yet aware about its existence, Moments app by Facebook is designed to let you privately share photos with friends using its advanced facial recognition technology. The app is developed by Creative Labs, which is the same developers team that previously launched apps like Instant Articles, Hello and Slingshot among others, and is powered by the facial recognition technology designed by Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Lab that already providing tag suggestions on the social network.
