Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone updates to sync with phone contacts

Facebook has released an update to its Messenger app for Windows Phone. The updated Facebook Messenger app (version 9.0.0.0) syncs with phone contacts to send text messages.

Users just need to tap “People” tab within the updated Facebook Messenger to send text messages to all their contacts who are not their Facebook friends or who do not have any Facebook accounts. Alternatively, users can also simply type a number of their contacts in the recipient bar to send them text messages directly from the updated Messenger app.

Apart from sending text messages, the updated Facebook Messenger app comes with a feature that lets users add colorful drawings or add text on their photos in their camera roll before sending them to their friends. This feature was debut on iOS last month.

The updated Facebook Messenger app lastly comes with some improvements and bug fixes to give users a faster messaging experience.

Users can now download the updated Facebook Messenger app by visiting Windows Phone Store. The app is compatible with Windows Phone 8 or Windows Phone 8.1 devices.

Earlier this month, Facebook announced that its Messenger surpassed 500 million user mark. The social networking giant is also in buzzes to add payments feature and Uber integration into the Messenger app in the coming future as it appointed former PayPal executive David Marcus as its mobile messaging chief in the recent past.
