Facebook Messenger app for Windows Phone is quite similar to the Messenger app on Android and iOS platforms. The app allows users to send private messages, photos and stickers to individual contacts. Users can also share their location, see who’s online for a private or group chat and perform group conversations.

Apart from usual instant messaging features, Facebook Messenger app for Windows Phone gives an option to the users to turn off notifications when they are working, sleeping or just need a break. The app automatically adds Facebook friends to the People Tab after signing into a Facebook account and an option to import new contacts is also available.

While Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone is now available on Windows Phone Store, Facebook has shut down its Messenger client for Windows. Facebook Messenger on Windows platform was originally released in March 2012 but the social network is now seems to be in a mood to influence its users to use mobile devices for instant messaging.
