Facebook Messenger for Android adds a new way to Sign Up, also added SMS capabilities

Facebook always try to improve social networking experience for the end-user and today moving in the same direction, social networking giant improves the Messenger app for Android. Facebook Messenger for Android adds a new way to Sign Up, not by using much details, user just have to provide name and phone number to sign-up. After signing, user can start group conversations or share photos among contacts saved in the device.

The new way of sign-up currently support for users belong to Australia, India, Indonesia, South Africa and Venezuela, however, a list of countries will get the same feature in the near future.

Facebook Messenger for Android with SMS/MMS capabilities

Facebook also added one new feature to the Messenger app for Android which supports SMS and MMS capabilities right through the messenger app. In simple words, users can now get SMS and MMS right on the Facebook Messenger and even more, users can set the Messenger as default app to notify for new messages. Well, this new initiative by Facebook increases more usage of Facebook Messenger and on the other hand, users will also opt to use the app universally for sending and receiving SMS and Facebook messages simultaneously.

In case you haven’t yet installed the Facebook Messenger for Android, visit Google Play Store. The new features are now up on the app, there is no need to update the app to get new features. The accounts signed up using name and phone number will become available over the next few weeks.
