Double Dragon Trilogy, originally released in 1987 for gaming consoles, is one of the popular arcade games of 80s. The developer, DotEmu, has optimised Double Dragon Trilogy to provide similar experience to the smartphone users as it was available on the earlier gaming consoles.

Similar to the old edition for gaming consoles, Double Dragon Trilogy for Android and iOS has all the three installments – Double Dragon, Double Dragon 2: The Revenge, and Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone. The game has two modes; “Arcade” mode is available to play the game from beginning to end and “Story” mode unlock new stages and achievements while playing through the game. An option to play the game among two players via Bluetooth is also available, by activating Co-op mode.

At first the game begins with Billy and his brother Jimmy, two martial arts experts, in a mission to rescue Billy’s girlfriend, Marian, who’s been kidnapped by the Black Shadows Gang. Gamers can use a number of moves, including punches, kicks, elbows, knees, head-butts and an assortment of not-exactly-street-legal weapons. The game has three difficulty levels – mobile, original and expert, and there is also an option to choose the sound effects between the original 8-bit soundtrack and a brand-new remastered one.
