Dell today announced the launch of its XPS 12 and XPS 13 in India. Both the new devices run on Microsoft’s Windows 10 out of the box and are powered by the sixth-generation Intel Core processors.
The new Dell XPS range comes with high-end hardware such as Thunderbolt 3 ports and 4K (UHD) display panels with touch support. Also, there are some core Windows 10 features like Cortana, Continuum and Microsoft Edge.
Dell XPS 12
The Dell XPS 12 is the company’s latest 2-in-1 device. It comes with UHD display option and features a magnetic connection that enables one-handed transition. On the top of the tablet unit, there is a Corning Gorilla Glass NBT protection. The device has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera for capturing images and recording videos.
For typing text, Dell has provided a full-size backlit keyboard with a multi-touch supported touchpad. The device also has an option to attach a Dell Active Stylus to enable note taking and some casual sketching on the screen.
Dell XPS 13
The Dell XPS 13 is touted as the “smallest 13-inch form factor in the world”. It features a 13.3-inch FHD display and comes with up to 1TB PCIe SSD storage and 16GB RAM. There notebook is claimed to deliver 18 hours and 14 minutes of battery life, which is the “longest battery life” on a 13-inch laptop.
“The XPS brand has always been committed to delivering superior design along with performance to the consumer,” says Alen Jose, product marketing director of consumer and small business, Dell India, in a statement. “After receiving tremendous accolades for the XPS 13 at CES 2015, we have enhanced the XPS portfolio, making the laptop incomparable with any other in the segment.”
While the Dell XPS 12 is available in India with a starting price of Rs. 1,24,990, the XPS 13 comes at Rs. 76,990. Both the devices come with optional accessories, including Dell Thunderbolt Dock, USB Type-C to HDMI/VGA/Ethernet/USB 3.0, Bluetooth Mouse and Active Pen.
The new launch comes just in a week after Dell launched its new Latitude 7000 Series notebooks in the country. The company had also showcased its Latitude 5000 Series 2-in-1 and Latitude 3000 Series laptop models that all run on Windows 10 operating system.
