DataWind claims that its patented technology on both the new smartphones is capable of delivering fast mobile web experience. The company says that it reduces bandwidth consumption by faction of 10x to 30x and enables the devices to deliver web pages across even congested GPRS networks in just five to seven seconds.

“With every product we launch, we want more and more people to join the digital age,” Tuli added.

The DataWind PocketSurfer 2G4X and 3G4Z will go on sale through all major retail distribution outlets in India.

Mississauga, Ontario-based DataWind had announced its partnership with Reliance Communications in March last year and launched first smartphones with free one-year internet access in India. The company shipped the initial lot of 80,000 devices through its Amritsar facility in last August and is planning to kick-start its local assembling and manufacturing through other facilities across the country in the coming future.
