DataWind DroidSurfer Android netbooks launched in India

DataWind today announced the launch of its DroidSurfer Android netbooks in India. The affordable netbooks were launched in the presence of Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario, Canada, who is on a tour of the country.

The DataWind DroidSurfer netbooks come in 10.1-inch and 7-inch screen sizes with a price of Rs. 7,999 and Rs. 5,999, respectively. Both the netbook models run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system and come with tactile responsive keyboards.

Mississauga, Ontario-headquartered DataWind has partnered with Reliance Communications and Telenor to offer free unlimited internet browsing for one year with both the new DroidSurfer netbooks. “Our goal is to deliver internet, fast, free, anytime and everywhere,” says Suneet Singh Tuli, president and CEO, DataWind.

“The DriodSurfer netbook devices provide the ultimate flexibility between work and play with good battery life.”

The new netbooks have features like Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct in addition to a support for external devices through built-in USB ports.

The DataWind DroidSurfer 10-inch and 7-inch Android netbooks will go on sale through major retail distribution outlets across India.
