Coolpad Mega 3 brings triple-SIM support to Android Marshmallow

Coolpad has launched the Mega 3 in India with triple-SIM support. The Chinese company has also brought its Note 3S to the Indian market to take on Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and LeEco Le 2.

The Coolpad Mega 3 is perhaps the first Android Marshmallow smartphone with three SIM card slots. There is FDD and TDD-LTE support to deliver faster data access. Also, the device packs a 3,050mAh battery that is claimed to deliver up to 350 hours of standby time on a single charge.

“The Mega 3 is for users in need of a smartphone that can support multiple operators and at the same time perform seamlessly,” said Syed Tajuddin, CEO, Coolpad India.

Coolpad has provided a 5.5-inch IPS display on the Mega 3 with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) resolution. The smartphone has a quad-core CPU, 16GB of onboard storage and an 8-megapixel front as well as rear camera sensors.

Similar to the Mega 3, the Coolpad Note 3S has a 5.5-inch HD display but with a 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartphone has an octa-core CPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Further, it has a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor, fingerprint sensor and a 2,500mAh battery.

Both the Coolpad smartphones have Cool UI 8.0 on top of Android Marshmallow. Additionally, the company has partnered with Reliance Jio Infocomm to bundle its VoLTE network along with the free data Welcome Offer.

The Coolpad Mega 3 will be available for Rs. 6,999, while the Note 3S will hit shelves at Rs. 9,999. Both the smartphones will go on sale in the country starting December 7 from
