Canon launches new IXUS and EOS digital cameras in India

Canon today announced the launch of new IXUS and EOS range of digital cameras in India. The new range includes the Canon IXUS 285 HS, IXUS 180, IXUS 175, EOS M3 and EOS M10.

The new Canon range has compact and mirrorless camera models with features such as auto zoom and tiltable LCD monitors. “With the launch of our new cameras, Canon has set another benchmark in the genre of compact cameras and mirrorless cameras market,” says Andrew Koh, vice president — Consumer Imaging and Information Centre, Canon India, in a press statement.

“We hope that the new cameras create interest among users and encourage us to deliver more such quality products in the future.”

The Canon IXUS 175 is the most affordable compact camera in the new range. It comes with a price tag of Rs. 6,995 and flaunts a 20-megapixel CCD image sensor along with DIGIC 4+ image processor.

After the IXUS 175, Canon has the IXUS 180 and IXUS 285 HS with a price tag of Rs. 7,995 and Rs. 12,995, respectively. Both the compact cameras have DIGIC 4+ image processor as well as Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity support.

Canon has also brought the EOS M10 and EOS M3 as two of its new mirrorless camera models. The Canon EOS M10 with EF-M15-45 IS STM lens comes with a price tag of Rs. 39,995, while the EOS M3 is available for Rs. 49,995. Both have DIGIC 6 image processor, hybrid CMOS AF II autofocus technology and a 180/45 degrees tilt-type touchscreen LCD monitor with 1.04 million dots resolution.

All the new Canon IXUS and EOS camera models will be available for purchase through major retail stores and e-commerce portals.
