While its newly announced BlackBerry Classic has yet to be launched in the global markets, BlackBerry is now rumours with the BlackBerry Z20 Rio. This new smartphone is said to have mid-range specifications and will likely to debut in February next year.

BlackBerry-centric blog N4BB has leaked the key specifications of the BlackBerry Z20, codenamed Rio, and has brought two of its press renders.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the BlackBerry Z20 Rio is said to have a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 (MSM8960) chipset with a 1.5GHz dual-core Krait CPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage along with microSD card support. The source claims that the smartphone has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera and packs with a 2,800mAh non-removable battery.

The BlackBerry Z20 Rio is said to have Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and a microUSB port on the connectivity front and penta-band 4G LTE network support. Furthermore, the smartphone is rumoured with its 9.5mm thickness and is expected to sit between the BlackBerry Z3 and Z30 smartphones in the company’s portfolio next year.

Considering the design surfaced through the leaked renders, the BlackBerry Z20 Rio would have a plastic built similar to the Z3 with a large loudspeaker grill on the rear side.
