BlackBerry 10 gets first OTA update with top 5 improvements

BlackBerry 10 OS was unveiled in the late January and the company is concerning the customer support wholeheartedly. In this regard, BlackBerry has recently released the first over-the-air (OTA) update with a number of improvements, the update is now live for the BlackBerry 10 smartphones, especially for the BlackBerry Z10. According to the blog post by BlackBerry, the update has top 5 improvements which were suggested through the customer feedback.

The first and the major improvement in the BlackBerry 10 software update version 10.0.10.85 is the improvement in the third-party applications performance. BlackBerry knows that being in a present smartphones market can only be possible with a wide variety of third-party apps and the company is improving the abilities of the platform to handle third-party apps fluently. The update has also bundled with the capabilities to get WhatsApp integration and BlackBerry has also announced officially that WhatsApp will be available for BlackBerry 10 platform in March itself.

Coming back to the other improvements, BlackBerry has also added fixes for Gmail calendars on BlackBerry 10 and the new update has an improved BlackBerry Hub with enhanced abilities to have call details in the hub. The camera functionality of the BlackBerry Z10 is also improved with an ability for better photos in low-light situations.

The new update also has an improved solutions for browsing web and playing media contents on the BlackBerry 10 smartphones. Users can now play media contents smoothly on the web browser. The BlackBerry developers have included a number of battery life optimizations, BlackBerry has claimed that over 60 battery saving improvements are added in the new update.

The update is sized about 150MB, so it is suggested to use a Wi-Fi connection for downloading the update.

As the update is live in batches, the time of update vary from region to region and BlackBerry has confirmed that the update will be available to all the global BlackBerry 10 smartphones.
