Bing homepage now shows HD featured images and gives Office Online access

Microsoft is undoubtedly improving its Bing platform to give a tough competition to Google Search. In this regard, Bing homepage will now show users HD featured images to attract the users. The updated homepage also comes with a new tab to give users a direct access to Office Online suite.

The updated Bing homepage features images in 1920 x 1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution. At this resolution, the featured images will give a fair experience across 1080p monitors but the experience will still be a bit inferior on any QHD or UHD display panels.

In addition to HD images, the homepage will now host image captions which give users a short detail about the image and also let users download the image or share it on Facebook or Twitter. Users just need to hover their mouse pointer over the info button located on the bottom-right of the screen to bring out the image caption card and a single click on learn more will give further information about the image.

To specifically please its users in the US with a customise experience, the Bing homepage will now also feature a customised carousel with trending news, stocks, weather and flight. Users can make changes into these trending topics by going through Bing’s Interest page.

Users with slower Internet speed have the option to manually disable the HD images and trends carousel from the homepage via settings menu.

As an advantage of its Office Online, Microsoft has also provided a direct access to the same suite with Word, PowerPoint, Excel,, Calendar and OneDrive online support within the updated Bing homepage.

Microsoft yesterday integrated its Skype chat into Office Online to enable users with real-time chatting support within Word and PowerPoint.

These new moves by the software giant state that the company is improving its existence over Internet to expand its user base and directly compete with Google, which is so far leading the market with its vast range of products.
