Bendgate: Apple iPhone 6, HTC One M8, New Moto X and Nokia Lumia 1020 face bend test
A term called “Bendgate” has become viral all over just after the bendability of the iPhone 6 Plus shown in a video. As a lot of people are curious about other flagship smartphones that whether they also can easily be bent, a video surfaced on YouTube showing a bend test applied to Apple iPhone 6, HTC One M8, new Moto X and Nokia Lumia 1020. This video shows their durability over the bendability of the iPhone 6 Plus.
Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy, the man who brought the first video of showing the iPhone 6 Plus bent property, once again came up with a new video on YouTube where he puts a lot of pressure on all the other high-end flagship smartphones to make them bend.
He starts in the video with the iPhone 6, which is quite in rumours to have the same bendability of the iPhone 6 Plus. After the iPhone 6, Hilsenteger tested HTC One M8, new Moto X and Nokia Lumia 1020.
The video shows that the iPhone 6 resists bends at the initial amount of pressure by tight fingers but gets some dents after applying high pressure. The One M8, even being built with a pretty similar aluminium chassis that featured on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, does not resulted any bend but the glass panel above the display pops out a bit after a high pressure. A similar case appears for the Lumia 1020 which, however, built with a polycarbonate material.
The champion in the bend test becomes the new Moto X which does not bend even after getting enough pressure that anyone cannot put on a smartphone.
So the bend test video shows that the new Moto X is the robust flagship smartphone that cannot be bendable by the pressure of human fingers. HTC One M8 and Nokia Lumia 1020 could also resist from pressure but the iPhone 6 could get some dents with high pressure.
