Asus is all set to upgrade its existing Zenfone range in India by launching the Zenfone 3 series in September. The new range of Zenfone smartphones comes in five different variants, and the top-end Zenfone 3 Deluxe is aimed to take on flagships like the Xiaomi Mi 5 and OnePlus 3.
Similar to its last year’s attempt to rival Xiaomi and OnePlus, Asus is hosting its “Z3nvoloution” event in India. The event will take place before mid-September and soon after that, the Zenfone 3 smartphones will reach the Indian stores.
Asus hasn’t revealed any details about which Zenfone 3 models will be debuted in the country. The prices of the new smartphones are also yet to be announced. However, the Taiwanese giant has officially confirmed the event schedule.
The Asus Zenfone 3 range includes the mid-range Zenfone 3 model as well as the high-end Deluxe, large-screen Ultra, camera-centric Laser and the powerhouse Max. The entire range comes with the latest Android Marshmallow version with ZenUI 3.0 on top.
The basic Zenfone 3 model features a 5.5-inch Super IPS+ LCD panel with 2.5D Gorilla Glass protection and 1920 x 1080 (full-HD) resolution. The smartphone has a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with an octa-core CPU, Adreno 506 GPU and up to 4GB of RAM. It sports a 16-megapixel primary camera sensor on the rear and an 8-megapixel secondary camera sensor on the front.
Unlike the basic variant, the premium-looking Zenfone 3 Deluxe has a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with full-HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The smartphone comes with a Snapdragon 821 option that includes 6GB of RAM and 256GB storage. Also, there is a 23-megapixel rear camera sensor and an 8-megapixel front camera sensor.
For a wide-screen experience, Asus has the Zenfone 3 Ultra with a 6.88-inch display. It has a Snapdragon 652 chipset with an octa-core CPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage.
The Zenfone 3 Laser, on the other hand, has a 5.5-inch IPS display with full-HD resolution. It comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor that has a laser autofocus technology and a 5-megapixel front camera sensor with an autofocus lens.
Asus has the Zenfone 3 Max as an upgrade to the existing Zenfone Max model with a 5.2-inch HD display, Snapdragon 615 chipset and 4,100mAh battery. The smartphone has a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor and a 5-megapixel front camera sensor.
