Asus Transformer Book T100HA announced with Windows 10, USB Type-C port

Apart from a new smartwatch and a selfie smartphone, Asus, at the ongoing Computex 2015 in Taiwan on Monday, announced the Transformer Book T100HA. This new 2-in-1 device runs on Windows 10 operating system out of the box and features USB Type-C port.

The Asus Transformer Book T100HA is the successor to the last year launched Transformer Book T100TA and is designed to be the next-generation 2-in-1 device. It can be worked as a full-fledged laptop when docked on its keyboard or a 10.1-inch Windows 10 tablet.

Asus claims that the Transformer Book T100HA has enough power to deliver up to 14 hours of battery life on a single charge. There is 8.45mm-thick chassis that weighs 530 grams and comes in Silk White, Tin Grey, Aqua Blue and Rouge Pink color options.

The device has a 10.1-inch IPS display with 1,280 x 800 pixels resolution and is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Cherry Trail X5 processor along with 4GB of RAM. Just as on the new MacBook, there is a USB Type-C to offer reversible USB operation.

Apart from some upgrades over the existing Transformer Book, the new Asus Transformer Book T100HA has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options and Chiclet-style keyboard.

Asus has not yet revealed any details about its price, but mentions in a press statement that the Transformer Book T100HA will be available for purchase in the third quarter this year.

Earlier today, Microsoft announced that Windows 10 operating system will be available for download on existing and new PCs as well as tablets on July 29. The new operating system will bring Cortana integration and new apps like Microsoft Edge browser and Xbox Live to computing devices.
