Apple updates 15″ MacBook Pro with Force Touch trackpad and new specs

Apple today updated its 15-inch MacBook Pro with Force Touch trackpad that debuted on the Apple Watch and new MacBook earlier this year. The company has also upgraded its 27-inch iMac with newer processor versions to offer an improved high-end computing experience.

The updated 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display has Force Touch trackpad to let users interact with Mac operating system in a smoother way than ever before. The new trackpad has force sensors that detect amount of pressure on its surface to provide accurate and precise on-screen tracking. Furthermore, it supports new gestures to enhance user experience.

Apart from Force Touch, the updated 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro offers all-new specifications that include a quad-core Intel Core i7 (Haswell) processor with 6MB shared L3 cache, 16GB of 1,600MHz DDR3L RAM and up to 512MB PCIe-based flash storage. Users can expand the built-in storage up to 1TB and can get up to 2.7GHz clock-speed featuring Intel Core i7 processor.

In addition, Apple has provided an option to add AMD Radeon R9 M370X GPU to handle graphic-intensive tasks and there is a new battery pack to deliver up to nine hours of wireless web or 30 days of standby time on a single charge.

The updated iMac, on the other hand, has up to 3.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with AMD Radeon R9 M290X GPU, 8GB of RAM and 1TB HDD storage.

Apple has listed the updated Retina MacBook Pro in the US with a starting price of $1,999, while the updated iMac now starts at Rs. 2,299. Pricing and availability details in India are yet to be revealed.
