Apple unveils new MacBook with all-day battery life and USB-C port

Apple has just unveiled its new MacBook. The new MacBook has all-day battery life and features the world’s first reversible USB-C port.

The new MacBook is touted as “the future of the notebook” with its slim design, high-end specifications and power-pack performance.

The Cupertino giant has actually upgraded its previously launched MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with the new MacBook, which comes in silver, space grey and gold color options. The device sports 24 percent thinner design and has 2 pounds weight that makes it the “lightest MacBook ever”.

The new MacBook has a full-size keyboard that comes with advanced butterfly mechanism keys and an LED is featured under each key to provide uniform glow on the entire keyboard under dark. In addition, there is a pressure-sensitive Force Touch trackpad that detects the amount of pressure on its surface and then provides results on the screen. This means that users can now click anywhere on the trackpad and clicks are quite quieter than before.

Apart from the new keyboard and trackpad, the new MacBook features an upgraded 12-inch Retina display that uses 30 percent less power to produce same amount of brightness as other Retina display panels available on the Mac devices.

The new MacBook is the first fanless MacBook that not only provides a cooler experience but also run in silence. Apple has used an all-new logic board that has 67 percent smaller design that the 11-inch logic board of the MacBook Air. Moreover, there is an Intel Core M processor that consumes just 5 watts to provide a powerful computing experience.

Apple has provided a new, custom-shaped battery pack under the new MacBook that has 35 percent more battery cell capacity than would have been possible before. This new battery pack is claimed to deliver up to 9 hours of web browsing or up to 10 hours of iTunes movie playback.

In terms of connectivity, the new MacBook has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the unique USB-C port. The new USB-C port works as a five-in-one port which provides users a connectivity standard to use for power, USB data transfer, DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA capabilities.

Besides, the OS X Yosemite running new MacBook has an Intel HD Graphics 5300, 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB Solid State Drive (SSD) storage.

Commenting on the new MacBook, Jony Ive, SVP of Design at Apple, said:

“The new MacBook is the result of a collective obsession to simplify its essential components and create the most efficient design possible.”

The new MacBook will be available in 256GB SSD and 512GB SSD storage variants with price tag of $1,299 and $1,599, respectively. Both the variants will go on sale starting April 10.
