Apple slashes starting prices of Retina MacBook Pro and adds new processors
Apple has recently slashed the starting prices of the popular MacBook Pro with Retina Display and updated with new processors to make them faster and more affordable. The cut in prices now applicable to the variants of 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display and the slashed in price is also applicable to 13-inch MacBook Air.
Now the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display starts at Rs 99,900 ($1,499) with 128GB of flash storage. The 256GB storage version of the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro now costs Rs.114,900 ($1,699) with all new 2.6 GHz processor. The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display now comes with a faster 2.4 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor instead of earlier 2.3GHz Intel Core i7 processor. The top-of-the-line 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display also feature an upgraded 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor instead of the earlier 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor. The top-end 15-inch model also comes with a 16GB memory which was earlier has half, 8GB.
The 13-inch MacBook Air is now available for sale at Rs.94,900 ($1,399) with 256GB storage and 4GB RAM alongside 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor. While the prices of other models including 11-inch with 64GB storage, 11-inch with 128GB storage and 13-inch with 128GB storage are remains the same as before.
On announcing the cut in prices and upgraded processors, Apple officially claims that the MacBook Pro with Retina display features the world’s highest resolution notebook display. The SSD flash storage of the MacBook Pro with Retina Display is claimed to be four times faster than traditional notebook hard drives, and delivers improved reliability, instant-on responsiveness and up to 30 days of standby time.
All the models with upgraded processors and lesser price tags are now available at all retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers. Alternatively, consumers can also place their orders online through Apple Online Store.
