Apple sets ‘Spring Forward’ event on March 9; likely to launch Apple Watch or iPad Pro

Apple has just sent out invites for its “Spring Forward” event scheduled for March 9. The press event could be the place where the Cupertino giant would launch the anticipated Apple Watch or the rumoured iPad Pro.

The invite does not give any hint about the announcement but says that event will held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco.

As there is no proper information available on the invite, there are speculations that the company would give further details about Apple Watch as it just showcased just its key features at the iPhone 6 event last year.

If Apple Watch would not be the show-stopper at the event, the company may unveil the iPad Pro as the new model in its iPad series of devices, which rumoured to feature a 12.9-inch display and have an optional stylus.

Last month, Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that Apple Watch will start shipping this April. The base variant of the smartwatch will carry a price tag of $349.

Apple unveiled Apple Watch as its smartwatch to compete against Android Wear and Pebble in September last year. The smartwatch runs on a tweaked version of iOS operating system and has Siri integration and features a digital crown for navigation. It is powered by an S1 SiP (System-in-Package) and comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity options.
