Apple MacBook gets upgraded with Intel Skylake processors
Apple has upgraded its MacBook series with the latest Intel Skylake processors. The updated MacBook models have just been debuted in India with a starting price of Rs. 1,06,900.
The new Apple MacBook belongs to the last year’s MacBook family that had brought features like USB Type-C port and a Force Touch trackpad. Although the Cupertino giant hasn’t tweaked the design of the MacBook, it now has sixth-generation Intel Core M (Skylake) processors with up to 1.3GHz clock speed and faster 1866MHz RAM.
In addition to the new processors, the upgraded MacBook has an all-new Intel HD Graphics 515 and improved PCIe-based flash storage to deliver faster performance. There is also a new battery pack that provides wireless web browsing for up to ten hours.
To persuade some feminine buyers, Apple has added a Rose Gold finish to the existing MacBook color options. You won’t notice any change in the build as there is the same 35mm thickness, and the aluminium body has 920 grams of weight.
“MacBook is the thinnest and lightest Mac we have ever made and it’s our vision for the future of the notebook,” says Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, in a statement. “Customers are going to love this update to MacBook, with the latest processors, faster graphics, faster flash storage, longer battery life and a beautiful rose gold finish.”
Identical to the last year’s model, the upgraded MacBook has a 12-inch Retina display with 2304×1440 pixels resolution and a full-size keyboard. Apple hasn’t made any change to the connectivity front of the MacBook as there is just a single USB Type-C port. However, you’ll also have Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 for wireless connectivity.
The upgraded Apple MacBook with 1.1GHz Core M3 processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage comes at Rs. 1,06,900. You can also opt for a 1.2GHz Core M5 processor and 512GB of storage by paying Rs. 1,29,900.
13-inch MacBook Air now with 8GB RAM
In addition to the updated MacBook, Apple has announced that its 13-inch MacBook Air will now come with 8GB of RAM standard across all configurations. This new change will charge $100 in the US specifically if you want to switch from an existing 4GB RAM variant to an 8GB one.
