Apple has releases iOS 6.1.2 software update for all the iOS devices including all recent variants of iPhone, iPad, iPod touch. The new update comes with a bug fix related to Exchange calendar which drains battery life by using network actively for long time. As we reported earlier, the iPhone 5 users were reported about battery drain issue with the iOS 6.1 update, so Apple has taken a step after working on the issue for few days and fixes a single bug which causes battery draining issue on some devices.
Apple describes the new iOS 6.1.2 update as;
“Fixes and Exchange calendar bug that could result in increased network activity and reduced battery life.”
Though there is no report on the other issues arises after updating to iOS 6.1 update but some reports stated that the new update will not overcome all the other issues including overheating and security bug. Some users were also reported a security flaw after updating their iPhone to iOS 6.1 which evade the password from homescreen. The issue seemingly still not acknowledged by Apple which is the reason that there is no fix of security flaw is available till now.
On the other part, the heating issue on the iPhone 5 reported by some users in past is likely to overcome with the new update.
The new iOS 6.1.2 update is available over-the-air (OTA), it is sized about 12.6MB. There is no words on the side of jailbroken Apple devices so we suggest to hold the update for jailbroken device.
