Apple acknowledges iPad Pro unresponsive issue

Apple has acknowledged an issue that makes the iPad Pro unresponsive. The issue was reported by some of the users through the company’s Support Communities forum and Reddit.

On a support page, Apple says that it is well-aware of the issue and “is investigating” for the fix. The company, however, suggests users to ‘force restart’ the iPad Pro by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds.

A user says that the iPad Pro found to be “dead” after charging. “At night it was down to 40% so I charged it and went to bed. When I woke up it was ‘dead’. It wouldn’t wake up. I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to come to life. Worked on it for a couple of hours and had to run an errand. Plugged it back in as I was going to need a full charge later that day. Came back to it, same thing. Dead. I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to turn on,” the user says in an Apple Support Communities forum post.

This appears to be identical to “sudden death” issue that many Android devices had faced in the past. The Cupertino giant could resolve the issue through a software update in the recent past.

The Apple iPad Pro was unveiled in September as the anticipated 12.9-inch iPad and was went on sale in over 40 countries earlier this month. The device is especially designed for professionals with a iOS 9 operating system and some enhanced multi-tasking features. It comes with Apple Pencil compatibility to offer a notebook-like experience.
