Apple unveils 9.7-inch iPad Pro with A9X chip

Alongside the new 4-inch iPhone, Apple at its event in Town Hall unveiled the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. The new iPad model emerges as a smaller version of the iPad Pro that was launched last year.

The all-new Apple iPad Pro sports a pro Retina display with True Tone technology to adjust white balance. Under the hood, it has a 64-bit A9X chip that debuted on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The new chip comes equipped with “console-class” graphics.

Apart from the new chip, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro has a 12-megapixel iSight camera sensor on the back with Focus Pixels technology and a 5-megapixel FaceTime HD camera sensor on the front. There is also true-tone LED flash and 4K video recording support.

All-new 9.7-inch iPad Pro takes productivity to a smaller experience

Similar to the 12.9-inch model, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro has a four-speaker audio system that delivers “more than twice the audio output over the iPad Air 2. There are also built-in sensors to adjust and optimise the audio experience.

The iOS 9.3 running iPad Pro has Wi-Fi 802.11ac with MIMO technology and LTE-Advanced support to deliver up to 50 percent faster cellular connectivity. Additionally, the Cupertino giant has embedded an Apple SIM to offer wireless data connection on the go.
