Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Moto G Turbo Edition now live in India

Motorola has started rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Moto G Turbo Edition in India. The smartphone was launched in the country last month with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

The Android Marshmallow update for the Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition is available as an over-the-air (OTA) update. It comes in over 445MB size and thus requires an active Wi-Fi or a high-speed data network for download. Although the update availability is notified through a push notification, you can manually check its arrival on your device by going to ‘System Update’ option from ‘About Phone’ settings.

Motorola has provided stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow experience with the new update. This means that there is Google Now on Tap feature as well as improved app permissions. In addition, the update brings Doze mode to enhance battery life on the Moto G smartphone.

The Android Marshmallow update also removes certain proprietary Moto features including Moto Assist and Migrate. Further, there is battery-smart feature and ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode.

The Moto G Turbo Edition isn’t the only Motorola smartphone that has received an update to Android Marshmallow. Lenovo-owned Motorola had released a similar update for the Moto G (3rd Gen) last month. The Moto X (2nd Gen), Moto X Play and Moto X Style were also received the Android Marshmallow update in the recent past.
