Amazon India has now been offering a Gift Card worth Rs. 200 to all its customers to rival Flipkart and Snapdeal. The new offer emerges as a result of the success that the US e-commerce giant gained from the Indian market over the past two years of its launch.
CEO Jeff Bezos on Monday announced the Gift Card offer for Amazon India customers. Bezos says that the company is giving away the Gift Card to celebrate the success of becoming the “most visited e-commerce site” in the country. “We have built a vibrant marketplace with tens of thousands of sellers offering everyday low prices on India’s largest selection of over 30 million products and bringing alive our ‘Aur Dikhao’ promise to customers,” Bezos wrote in a letter addressed to customers.
“We will keep growing our investments in India and continue to work hard for our Indian sellers and customers.”
Customers who place order worth Rs. 500 or more through Amazon.in site will be eligible for the Gift Card. The offer is valid only till midnight tonight and the Gift Card will be will be issued to each customer by January 20. Moreover, each customer can receive only one Gift Card with a total value of Rs. 200.
According to the latest figures released by internet analytics firm comScore, Amazon India has surpassed Flipkart, Jabong and Snapdeal. The company entered India in 2013 to expand its presence overseas after serving millions of customers in the US. It has over 20 fulfilment centres and a wide catalogue of over 30 million products across hundreds of categories.
