Amazon India launches new stores and offering free shipping

Amazon India has taken a new step in the Indian gadgets market and launched new stores. The online shopping concern has launched three new stores within the online marketplace as Mobiles and Accessories, Cameras and Photography and Portable Media Players. With this new announcement, Amazon India is now selling six categories of products on including Books, Movies and TV shows and the Kindle family of E-readers, ebooks and Kindle Fire tablets.

Commenting on the launch of new stores, Amit Agarwal, Vice President and Country Manager, Amazon India, said;

“Customers have been asking us to bring the Amazon experience to electronic products in India. We are very excited to open our marketplace to sellers in these popular categories and offer broad selection, low prices, great convenience, and reliable delivery to shoppers across India.”

According to Amazon India, the online marketplace now has over 20,000 electronic products in the lineup. Amazon has provided detailed product descriptions, options to shortlist products by features, customer reviews from and personalized recommendations on the products to help the consumers in taking buying decision.

Amazon India claims that there are 150 Electronics retailers across the country including Croma, Vijay Sales, UniverCell, Saholic, and J.J. Mehta & Sons. Items ‘fulfilled by Amazon’ will feature some additional benefits as Cash on Delivery, delivery tracking to the doorstep and free returns pickup. As a launch promotion for a limited period, customers can avail free shipping with no minimum order value on all orders Fulfilled by Amazon.
