Bharti Airtel today launched its 4G services in Sri City and Salem. The new launch brings high-speed data access to hundreds of additional postpaid and prepaid Airtel subscribers.
With Airtel 4G services, subscribers in Sri City and Salem can now enjoy uninterrupted HD video streaming and experience faster downloads and uploads. The services are available on 4G-enabled mobile devices as well as for 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles.
To please subscribers in Sri City and Salem, Airtel is offering instant SIM swap for existing 3G subscribers. In addition, the 4G services are initially available at 3G data prices with packs start from Rs. 28.
Subscribers also get free unlimited music streaming and download access on Wynk Music and five free movies per month for six months on Eros Now channel of Wynk Movies to experience the high-speed data access on their mobile devices.
Specifically for Sri City, Airtel is aiming to enhance the state government’s plan of developing an integrated business city through its 4G services,” said Venkatesh Vijayraghavan, CEO, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Bharti Airtel, in a press statement.
“The launch is in line with our philosophy of empowering millions by delivering high-speed wireless broadband – a vision that we share with the Government of Andhra Pradesh. We recently launched ‘Project Leap’, our national network transformation drive, and look forward to augmenting our 4G presence to more regions like Sri City and deliver a compelling network experience for our customers now and in years to come.”
Gurgaon-based Airtel had kick-started its development towards 4G LTE technology by launching the new services in Kolkata in April 2012. And today, the teleco has over 300 towns across India with its high-speed services. It also has a partnership with Flipkart and Samsung to bundle double data offer with some 4G handsets in the country.
