Acer unveils Chromebook 15 with large display and Intel Broadwell processor

Acer arrived at the CES 2015 with its Chromebook 15 which¬†became¬†the largest Chromebook till date with a 15.6-inch display. The Chromebook features an Intel Broadwell processor and runs on Google’s Chrome OS.

Acer Chromebook 15 has a high-end variant with 1080p display and a low-end variant with 1366x768pixel display. The display panel available on the high-end variant has wide viewing angles and comes with an anti-glare coating while the low-end variant has a TN panel with inferior viewing experience.

Apart from the display panels, the Chromebook comes with an option for a fifth-generation Intel (Broadwell) Celeron 2955U or an Intel Core i3. Both the variants can have 2GB or 4GB RAM options and there is up to 32GB on-board storage.

The Chromebook 15 has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and an HDMI port. There is an SD card reader also featured on the Chromebook to expand its storage.

Acer has provided Chrome OS with all the Google apps which are already available on its existing Chromebook models, including Chrome web browser, Gmail, Google+ and YouTube among others.

The Chromebook 15 will be available with a starting price of $249 (approximately Rs. 15,800) with Celeron processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage while price about its models with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage are yet to be revealed.
