60,000 Xiaomi Redmi 1S to go on sale in India through Flipkart tomorrow

As many as 60,000 units of Xiaomi Redmi 1S will go on sale in India tomorrow. The Chinese company will start its fourth round of sale on Flipkart.

Customers who are willing to buy a Redmi 1S are required to make a pre-registration by visiting Mi webpage on Flipkart till the midnight of September 22. So far, the online marketplace has received over 3,00,000 pre-registrations for the 60,000 units of the Redmi 1S. The sale will begin at 2p.m. tomorrow.

In the last round of its flash sale, Xiaomi sold 40,000 units of the Redmi 1S in just few seconds. The company also started selling the official accessories for the Redmi 1S which include a screen protector and two back covers.

Beijing-based Xiaomi launched the Redmi 1S smartphone in India in July, alongside launching the Mi3 and Redmi Note. The smartphone went for pre-registration on August 26 and its first round of flash sale was held on September 2.

The Redmi 1S, specification-wise, competing some of the mid-range smartphones in the Indian market with offering a 4.5-inch HD display, 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, microSD card support, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.6-megapixel front camera and a 2,000mAh battery. The company is additionally bundling a screen protector and a microSIM adapter to persuade the buyers.

As Google recently launched its Android One initiative in India with launching three entry-level smartphones by Micromax, Karbonn and Spice, these smartphones are likely to give tough competition to the Redmi 1S. Unlike the Chinese smartphone, all the three Android One smartphones are available online in mass quantity and are running on the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box.
